Customer Racing team ALFAB made a strong impression on the GT4 European Series
contenders, as the championship welcomed competitors from the regional GT4 Scandinavia
series onto the grid for two one-hour races as part of the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa
support package.
A tricky qualifying saw the team start mid-pack for both races, however drivers Erik Behrens
and Daniel Roos were able to climb the order in the opening contest on Friday evening with an
impressive run to 12th overall, 4th in Pro-Am and 1st of the Scandinavian runners, extending the
pair's lead at the head of the GT4 Scandinavia standings. Unfortunately Saturday's second
race did not go to plan, with Behrens a helpless victim of a turn 1 crash that took the team out
of the race after only a handful of meters. However, the team continue to lead the
championship by 23 points with 2 rounds left in the 2022 season.
Customer Racing team Greystone GT also contested the event as part of their full-season GT4
Europe campaign. A mighty opening stint from Adam Carroll in Race 1 saw the team rise from
52nd on the 55 car grid to 23rd overall and 9th in the Pro-Am class. Tim Whale would take the
start for race 2 from the middle of the pack, but like ALFAB, was an unfortunate victim in the
multi-car crash at the very first corner.
The European and Scandinavian grids now go their separate ways, with GT4 Europe returning
in a month's time at the Hockenheimring in Germany, and GT4 Scandinavia one week later at
Anderstorp.
